Yacht Rental: How To Go About It

Yacht rental is all about chartering motor yacht and sailboats for vacation, or to any destination of interest. There are two major types of rentals; bareboat rental, and crewed rental. The bareboat rental is when people charter a boat and skipper it themselves. Alternatively, a group of people can also rent a yacht under this category. They will receive seamanship basic training from rental companies along with a skipper. The crewed rental comes with a complete crew, and is usually 35 to 300 foot boat with about 30 or more crew members which include a chef, engineers, stewardesses, deck hands, mates, and so on.

How to Cut Down Yacht Rental Cost

Yacht rental is not meant for the rich alone, as there are several factors that can be used to determine the cost, to suit someone's budget. Costs of boat and ship rentals are quoted per week, with two types of weekly rates. The all-inclusive rental cost include the following; cost of rentals, skipper, meals (three per day), fuel, and harbor fees. The plus-expenses rental cost involves all the above, except that the cost for meals, drinks, fuel, and harbor fees are billed separately, they are either collected before you board the boat, during or after your trip.

Among the factors that determine the price of renting a yacht include the size of the boat, age, and design. You can invite more people to join you and your family in your trip, and share the cost with them, the more you are in the rented boat, the less each person will pay. If the cost of the rental is $8,000 per week, and there are 10 guests, in the boat, then each person will pay just $800 per week, making the cost far less.

You can go for older boats as they are less expensive to hire when compared to newer ones. Make sure they are clean and comfortable enough, and they contain every feature you need for your convenience. Pick a boat with less expensive crew service, not a 5-star service type with formal and first rate chefs, and other uniformed crew members.

Before You Go On Your Trip

Ensure you ask all necessary questions about what you do not understand and what you would need for your trip from your rental company. Whatever you would need for the journey must be included in your request, like special food, wine, fishing equipment, etc. When you wish to visit a special place during your trip, tells your rental company to help you arrange for that. visiting some places require getting a license before visitors can be allowed. Pack light clothes that can help you to relax, and do not forget to take along things like books, music, magazines, games that will allow you have a wonderful time.

You can book for your yacht rental online; many of the rental companies have their booking forms on their websites. Select the destination you wish to visit, type of yacht, dates for your trip (the beginning and the ending). You will also see a place to add any other thing extra you would need, do so. Confirm the items you picked, and then proceed to checkout, using your credit card or any other payment option the company has included. Many people who had at one time or the other chartered a boat had concluded that when compared with staying in a hotel, yacht rental is far less expensive, and much more comfortable.
