TEMECULA, California ? Nancy Gass, 70, of Las Vegas was killed Sunday morning after the pickup truck she was riding in suffered a tire blowout and veered off the roadway and rolled upside down together with its fifth-wheel trailer into an embankment on the northbound Interstate 15 freeway, according to a Riverside County Sheriff Coroner press release.
Gass was a passenger in the truck in the right, front seat at the time of the crash about 11:05 a.m. on the freeway just north of Temescal Canyon Road. She died at 11:30 a.m., the coroner said. The male driver of the pickup truck was injured and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of undisclosed injuries, according to an online report by the Lake Elsinore Wildomar Patch.
The Las Vegas couple were returning home to Las Vegas following a vacation? at Mission Bay in San Diego, according to the news report.
